Kitchen cleaning FAQs
How often should a commercial kitchen be cleaned?▾
Multi-tier schedule: daily after service for cooking surfaces and floors; weekly for canopy exterior and filter; monthly for prep tables, cold-storage walls, and floor sanitisation; quarterly for full canopy and duct interior; annually for complete extraction system clean to AS 1851. Insurance policies and food safety regulations dictate the minimum cadence — most Sydney commercial kitchens follow exactly this schedule.
Are your kitchen cleaning chemicals food-safe?▾
Yes. All chemicals used on food-contact surfaces are HACCP-compliant. Alkaline degreasers used on cooking equipment are followed by potable-water rinse to remove all chemical residue before next service. Safety Data Sheets are supplied for every product. Documentation provided for your food safety management system records.
Do you provide certificates of clean for insurance?▾
Yes. After quarterly canopy and annual extraction-system deep cleans, we provide a certificate of clean documenting work completed, photos before and after, and details of any compliance issues identified. Most commercial kitchen insurance policies require this documentation. We file it with your records and a copy is held on our system for renewal-time reference.
How long does a kitchen deep clean take?▾
A small cafe kitchen daily close-down: 1-1.5 hours after service. Standard restaurant kitchen weekly clean: 3-5 hours. Quarterly canopy and duct deep clean: 4-8 hours depending on canopy size and grease accumulation. Annual extraction system clean: a full day, typically on a Sunday when the venue is closed.
Will the kitchen be ready for service the next morning?▾
Yes. All cleaning is scheduled after last service and completed before next opening. Equipment is wiped down and food-safe-rinsed, surfaces dry, floors anti-slip treated. Specialist deep cleans (quarterly canopy, annual extraction) are scheduled on closed days to allow drying time.
How much does commercial kitchen cleaning cost in Sydney?▾
Daily close-down: included in standard restaurant cleaning contract. Weekly canopy & filter: $80-$180 per visit. Quarterly canopy and duct deep clean: $400-$1,200 depending on canopy size. Annual extraction system clean to AS 1851: $1,200-$4,500 depending on duct length and complexity. All prices exclude GST and assume reasonable access.
